Getting started - Meet Maddie
Another package arrived super fast from Dollmore, full of teeny tiny clothes for animated people. This is Maddie, Noah’s daughter, she was cut after the MONTHS of drafting before being green lit but we liked her so we rewrote her in. She likes ladybirds, fireworks and re-reading the book Mrs Frisby and the rats of NIMH and she doesn’t like carrots.

Thank you to EM Media
It’s been 5 months since our last post as Elephant has been on hiatus. We have been patiently waiting to hear back from EM Media regarding our completion fund and on my Birthday we were in formed it’s all go again :)
We just need to confirm new deadlines and schedules but I’m happy to say we will be back in the studio and down in the cellar soon enough.
Massive thanks to Simon Arnold (Talent and Skills Co-ordinator at EM Media) for his help so far.
We will keep you posted ;)

It wasn’t meant to snow …

… in the script it was autumn, maybe if our summer had been sunnier, our brains wouldn’t be looking towards the cold. The idea has evolved and i’m always made happy by a pleasant surprise and my single utterance ‘What if it were to snow’ producing a white magic.
A sneak peak below of two shots, our deadline is fast approaching and we are on schedule-ish :) Everything is SLOWLY coming together.

The audio side of things
Sam and Dan Burt sent over the draft score this past week and it’s amazing LOVE LOVE LOVE it, I like to loop it on my iphone and listen when I’m on the train, it makes me smile wide. Both pictured below, I also love this press shot.

And in other news we went back to The Strongroom and recorded Clare Blackman, singing the opening lullaby and her character piece and she blew us away, here we all are enjoying the sun and a beer, in the yard, after recording.
All in all our ears are dead happy.

And out popped Little Noah
His armature was easier to build than Noah’s as I learned from my mistakes and he is rather charming. We had a slight catastrophe when after twisting him into an awkward pose, his lower body fell off but he was easily mended. We have animated out his scene with his dad and one of the end sequences and the candle blow that turned out pretty sweet.
Liam and I are at the gone slightly insane stage from sitting down in the cellar under the light with only each other and tiny models to talk to, delirium has set in but that’s the best part of a project - it’s all good, two thumbs up, fine holiday fun.

Hide and Seek at the Strongroom

This Saturday was spent recording Noah (James Gardner) & Little Noah (Jacob Gardner) at Air Studios in Shoreditch joined by Rach, Josh, Jenny & Rob and we had a blast.
Jake was a complete pro and blew us away and Jam was pretty awesome too.
We loved burgers the size of our heads, impromptu hide and seek and the indepth explanation of the rules, arranging salt and pepper, piggy backs, forgetting to push the button and trying to talk through the glass with flailing arms, Autumn the puppy dog & littlenobody in wire, sounding like an Australian, the asleep in the back feeling, the excitement of the tube, lovely ladies in the window, waving at strangers and Here …….. I ……….. come.
We ended the day with happy hearts and contented smiles.Posted on May 16, 2010 ()
